Description

Singing sensation Aaliyah ("Romeo Must Die") stars as Akasha, the queen of all vampires, awakened by the music of the vampire Lestat (Stuart Townsend -- "Wonderland," "Resurrection Man"), who has transformed himself into a rock star in the contemporary American music scene. Akasha's malevolent power is so great that all the immortal vampires must stand against her if they want to survive! Also starring Marguerite Moreau ("Firestarter 2: Rekindled," "Wet Hot American Summer"), Vincent Perez ("I Dreamed of Africa") and Lena Olin ("Chocolat," "Romeo Is Bleeding") with music by the top-selling rock group Korn!

The soundtrack to this film is like gold star dust. Heaven knows why the music isn't being sold they would make a fortune ... As for the film itself it is a fascinating tale of vampires and humans clashing that isn't quite like any other ...

I thought this was an excellent film, different from the norm. I agree it does not exactly follow the Anne rice novel but a must for true fans of the vampire genre

First and foremost, this film is by no means true to the book, a lot of key pieces have been missed out and at other times completely reinvented with only the most basic storyline really keeping to it. Yet, this is a great film to watch as a vampire fan or just for pure enjoyment. I would say, for Rice fans, to view this as entirely separate media from the book, but yet I can safely say that even as a major Anne Rice fan I have come to watch the film tens upon tens of times and enjoyed it over and over. This type of film should have been taken account when making the twilight series to see how to turn the hype in favour.
