Return to Oz

Ok, it is dark and scary in a few places, it will spook children under 5, but when I watched this as a child, I was enchanted. Sure the part with the Nome King scared the living hell out of me, but I kept going back to watch it. Kinda like what I do with scary adult films today

I saw this on tv in the 90s and thought it was Amazing yet freaky. This film has not lost any of its charm over the years and it is much darker than the original musical and a better movie overall than the recent Oz the great and powerful. I looked at some online reviews where top critics panned the movie. I believe this movie should be fully remastered and restored and I understand the wizard of oz is the movie which this will probably remain it's shadow forever. The painstaking level of detail in this movie where oz is a much more eerie and threatening place than the original movie. Critics failed to notice the production design shows the emerald city in ruins I noticed that the work put in to this film shows a land where people actually live or lived than the paintings surrounding the characters in the original oz film. There is a tangible reality than a multicolour matte painting. Yes the first film is great but this movie must be recognised for its own merits. The score, well what can I say it's up there with john Williams, jerry Goldsmiths and Bernard Herrman's best work. David Shire's best work, just listen to the music track for this score titles Mombi's hall of heads, just excellent!

I loved this movies when it first came out. It's nothing like the musical film but stays quite true to the 2 books that make up this movie. It's a little dark in places with the Queen Mombi and her cabinets of heads, but no more scary than seeing the original film and the Witch. While this release is in HD the transfer is not the best, there is a lot of dirt on the film which is a little distracting at the start of the movie. I hope we get a remastered release in the future.

I don't mind this movie as such but it is defiantly not on the same standard as the wizard of oz. Around a 6 maybe a 7 /10. Watchable, slightly enjoyable but not as good as the original.

It's alright. Not as good as the original. But I think it's abit messed up in parts with the headless woman and the wheelers are creepy

In a word 'rubbish'. Frightened the kids and bored the adults. Supposed to be a U but I think it's more PG. Low budget movie that was a poor sequel to the fantastic Wizard of Oz.

I love this movie because it scary and good and the lead wheeler is so funny that he makes me fall of my bed all the time and he cute and hot in that costume of his and his melmet his cool too so love you pons maar xxxx

I love return to oz the movie because it has the romatic cute handsome sexy wheelers who I feel sorry for because if you watching closely you can see mombi treating them as slave and making them pull a sled with her on it and whipping them so I'm glad she got what she derseved and good luck with your life wheelers because you earned it

This film is brilliant! Don't think it's as bright and happy as the first one, theres something slightly sinister and spooky about it-love it! Definitely one to watch
