Good for young children, as it is silly in a way kids like. If you want a funny film, look for the original films with Peter Sellars, he played it perfectly. This Pink Panther is OTT, and the comedy is forced, wheras the original Pink Panther films are effortlessly funny. So overall, if it is for someone under 10, this is the best. But if you are over 10, try to watch the original Pink Panthers with Peter Sellars.
  • I was surprised how funny I found it!

This is very different from the Peter Sellers films. Although aimed at a younger audience, there were funny bits for Adults too. It never got boring for my 17 yr old son. Very pleased with this purchase

very very funny, i only rented this movie to watch on holiday - could have watched it over and over again
  • The kids will like it, adults less so (if you know who Peter Sellers was)

Steve Martin is a comedian that you either like or loathe. I rented this film for my 5 year old son, who loved it! He thought it was hilarious and for several days reinacted various scenes (mostly the karate ones) whilst howling with laughter. He and I had previously watched the first Pink Panther film and between you and me, if you've seen one, you've seen them both! Sadly, although I like Jean Reno (who is by far the best actor in either of the films, providing a credible and long suffering sidekick to the bungling French inspector) and Andy Garcia, I have to say Steve Martin's performance is nothing when compared to that of Peter Sellers in the original films. It's understandable that someone, somewhere decided to revisit the Pink Panther franchise as it was hugely successful back in the day. Sadly, I missed the sublime performance Sellers provided. Sellers was able to convey more than a hint of French arrogance, emotion through a simple gesture or look and appear utterly incompetant whilst trying to be completely professional. He made looking really stupid incredibly easy, and Steve Martin just comes across as being a bit silly, and even then he over eggs it! Hunt the original films down! If you've never seen any Pink Panther films before, or you're under the age of 12 then you'll probably find something to laugh about, otherwise you'll possibly (like me) find yourself counting the minutes until the end credits roll. One for the kids, and sadly not really one for the adults (of a certain age).
