Description

From C. Jay Cox, the writer of the hit comedy "Sweet Home Alabama," comes a heartwarming and tender gay romantic drama that combines laughs, seduction and tears with plenty of romance. The handsome Aaron (Steve Sandvoss), a Mormon missionary, travels door-to-door in Los Angeles spreading the word of his religion. Christian (Wes Ramsey), a cute West Hollywood party boy, goes from man to man without much commitment. Opposites will soon attract when Aaron and Christian meet and sparks begin to fly. Featuring two star-making performances from Sandvoss and Ramsey, the film also features a terrific supporting cast including Mary Kay Place ("Further Tales of the City"), Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Third Rock from the Sun") and international screen legend Jacqueline Bisset.

i write this after having just seen this film, i never write reviews normally, but just had to sit and put down a few words this film handles the whole subject matter so brilliantly, its a joy to see, and experience such wonderful and touching film making, please watch this film, why its under the heading of comedy is beyond my comprehension, but maybe the film says it all, when it should be taken as a wonderful and moving film, its easier to hide it in the comedy section, i can only hope as i found it, others who need it will find it also.

This movie is a beautiful romance. The plot is good, with a good mixture of light and hard moments, sensuality and tenderness. It is well played by the actors. Cherry on the top, the two main characters are ultra-gorgeous and make a very cute couple. The secondary characters are quite interesting as well. I really enjoyed it.

Well, firstly, i'm not the biggest of fans for gay films, despite being gay myself. However, this film was excellently done, and without going into all the ins and outs of films like we tend to do, I'd simply advise you to rent it, or even buy it, just please don't dismiss this film for whatever reason. I couldn't sleep one night, so I rented the film at 1am and started watching immediately. Despite me being so tired throughout the entire film (which finished just before 3am), I didn't take my eyes or ears off the film for one second. Beautiful story, beautifully put across! Rj x

The story started out to be interesting, but unfortunately, the developments are surprisingly disappointing (and sometimes downright inacceptable), in spite of a strong cast and good performances from the leads. All in all not terribly bad, but not the gripping love story one would have expected.
  • Utterly Brilliant

I watched this a few years ago at the LGBT film festival in a room full of gay men. Being a gay woman I must have stood out like a sore thumb. My reason for going, I was a Mormon, or as the film states, a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. I am no longer a practiing Mormon, but was intrigued & delighted by this film. It is very true to events that the church would take if you break the rules. Yet not too critical. I loved this film. It was funny, endearing, compassionate & honest. The acting was brilliant. The story good. And the cast a dream. I recommend you go watch it. Gay or straight.
