This is nothing to do with the poem. Well, it is, but it mostly takes the mick out of it, and then uses it as a launch pad for a crazy, hilarious and awesome adventure. The fact that Lorre, Price and Karloff are in it should be enough, but we also get the wonderful and gorgeous Hazel Court, and a young wooden Jack Nicholson to laugh at (his acting obviously improved since the 60s- he was actually better than this in a film shot straight afterwards, the Terror, but anyways...) The special effects are outdated, but this is probably the first on-screen duel of wizards, and who cares. The point is it makes you feel happy, makes you laugh, and just has a warmth about it not found nowadays. Best bits are the scenes when Craven first meets Bedlo and when Lenore comes onto the scene (banter with Scarabus and the end are great)
