Okay wasn't to sure at at first but like the story line and they pulled it off maybe if they had a older actor like Matt D. it would have been a block buster

This was a good enough film for a rent! It's fast paced, it has some excellent visuals and had me and my wife on the edge of our seats on a couple of places. Certainly worth a watch despite what some people are saying in reviews! Certainly the plot was a little shallow in places and lacks any real killer 'twists' but I would watch it again and I don't say that about many films.

Very impressive film, kept us on the edge of our seats , can't believe I missed this one when it first came out. The basic story line is very similar to WAR GAMES from back in the 80's but very well updated and great entertainment. Amazing graphics and stunts

I know taste is an individual thing, but those people giving this anything more than 3 stars must be 12 years old because this film stretches reality to unbelievable lengths. OK so let's first of all suspend belief that an all seeing super computer exists at all in this day and age or that the same computer will go on a killing rampage out of a sense of revenge for US soldiers killed because a president decided to overrule it's "abort" recommendation - so the computer has an emotion now??!! So let's then move on to the "action". Shia "worst actor in the world" LaBeouf feeds a cheque into his account via an ATM and IMMEDIATELY his account has $750k deposited it in (that's the fastest clearing of a cheque I've ever seen) and then the machine dispenses loads of money, too much for him to handle so it's flying out onto the street??? Later a crane arm rips through a federal building (hmmm) and Shia leaps god knows how many stories from the opening onto the roof of a train platform, hits it on the roll and rolling off onto the track below (about 12 feet down) without sustaining any injuries and with enough strength to leap out of the way of an oncoming train!!! Then not 5 minutes later he jumps from a moving train onto a platform again without sustaining any injuries!!!!! What's this guy made of or what did he have for breakfast?? I want it. Then he and the similarly vacuous female lead jump onto a rubbish skip. This is an old movie cliche and yet so unbelievable. Have you ever seen what people put in their trash? Glass, open cans etc etc. Then in the "climax" of the movie Shia (with no arm to arm combat training) overpowers an armed federal guard!!! And finally he gets shot 3 times by Secret Service agents and all he ends up with is an arm in a sling!!!!!!! Oh man this is the biggest load of tosh (an English expression) I have EVER seen masquerading as an intelligent action thriller. Oh and did I say it runs for nearly 2 hours??? Half way through I couldn't believe how much time was still left!!

okay thriller flick - but the premise is really contrary to sensibility, and the female lead is only there to pander to the female audience as a highly stereotypical victimized single mother. the heros are really anti-heros, and the antagonist is actually one of only two characters with any sense of morality whatsoever. the message is clear - supporting the state, regardless of right or wrong, is the correct choice. in the end, nothing changed; only hope was lost. weird.
