  • Cinderella in a different light

I have always loved the story of cinderella, and have watched many different variations of the tale, but out of all of them this is not exactly the best made. However the main character played by Drew Barrymore is the cinderella I would most like to be like, she is both intelligent and compationate. Her character is why I love this movie.

Ok, so the acting is not going to be winning any awards and the accents leave something to be desired......but i love this movie. It is quite literally the queen of romance films and anyone who call themselves a fan of the rom com must own a copy of this because it is the pinicle of the genre. I find this moving moving and a perfect film to escape the real world for a couple of hours and snuggle up to the boyfriend with. BUY IT!!!!!!

Although the story is relatively so so, this film suffers from really woeful acting. Bar Anjelica Houston, there was so much ham, I thought I was watching a pig-farm documentary. Dougray Scott sounds like he is reading his lines from an auto cue and Drew Barrimore's accent drifts from West Country to Kensington to West Coast. Has she been good in anything since ET? It is just dreadful.

I have seen this film many times (I must have seen it for the first time maybe eight years ago now) - the actors are all perfect. It's touching, humourous and romantic. A historical tale, yet told for feminists everywhere! :) I love it - even the music is great. If you're female you need to watch this cinders movie! Also Drew Barrymore's accent in it is crazy wonderful! You'll find yourself repeating lines and trying them out, just to see what they sound like when you say them!
