Description

Fred Savage (TV's "The Wonder Years") and Bonnie Bedelia ("Presumed Innocent," "Die Hard") star in a heartwarming story about the special friendship between two teenagers struggling to adjust to life after each suffers a great loss. A splendid supporting cast -- including TV heartthrob Jason Priestley ("Beverly Hills, 90210"), Emmy-winner Colleen Dewhurst ("Murphy Brown"), Fred Gwynne ("My Cousin Vinny") and Academy Award-winner Louise Fletcher ("The Cheap Detective," "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest") -- rounds out this story of belief in the impossible and in the magical. A wonderful film for the whole family.

This is a nice , feel good underrated 80's film. Give it a try and I must agree worst teaser/trailer ever , not representative of the film at all !

The trailer was so rubbish, there's no hope for the film, I'm not even gonna bother watching it!
  • Ok, the trailer to this one really is crap, but the film isn't too bad

OMG,I just watched the trailer and I have to admit the the other guy had a point. Whoever thought that this really dodgy rather brain numbing teaser would sell this movie is probably now unemployed and living in a box somewhere. The film is a rather sweet story (all be it unrealistic) about a girl who does not fit in (broken family and all that) and finds herself having to help the boy in her class who will not talk or engadge with anyone. The boy "Eric" then starts to copy her and open up to her as she tries to help and understand him. A bit mushy in places but on the whole a good little film. Most certainly a chick flick, so boys don't waste your time as this one requires you to feel emotion that isn't related to football. Worth seeing for anyone who remembers teenage angst or is going through it. A little bit of magic brings hope in this story. Enjoy your guilt free girly moment.
