A masterpiece of filmmaking of an interesting story, with a brilliant cast ranging from young and cute Dennis Quaid to the tall and toned Scott Glenn, filled with memorable scenes, actual footage and unforgettable lines " ya hear that, we're competing with Archie and Jughead". You will definitely see why this movie was nominated for 8 academy awards, (winning 4 of those nominations for editing, sound, sound editing and original score) and was ranked 1st of the top 10 movies of the year 1983 by Siskel and Ebert. It's a movie that you'll want to watch again and again. This movie is definitely up there with the likes of Ron Howard's Apollo 13 and Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. It will easily become one of your all time favourites as it is mine!!!

A hollywood treatment of the early space programmes in the US. Great actors, and good story lines, with good visual effects. Strap in for the long-haul - this movie is just over 3 hours...
