Description

The Caped Crusader takes on a whole new look, and the world's most dangerous villains, in this full-length animated feature. This high- octane anthology features six different Batman stories, each from a diverse list of creators, including Academy Award-nominee Josh Olsen ("A History of Violence"), screenwriter of "Batman Begins" David S. Goyer, and award-winning comic book writer Brian Azzarello. The six tales reveal Bruce Wayne's earliest adventures as Batman, as he travels the globe to stop the villainous Scarecrow, Killer Croc and Deadshot. When taken together, the stories in "Batman: Gotham Knight" form a bridge between the blockbuster live-action feature "Batman Begins" and its much-anticipated sequel "The Dark Knight." Produced by the most creative "Batman" team working today, including Bruce Timm (TV's "Justice League Unlimited"), Alan Burnett ("Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker"), and David S. Goyer ("Batman Begins," "Ghost Rider").

Brilliant to see the Batman character continue to be explored artistically, and whilst I *love* the 90s animated series, and the JLU, it is good to see artists breaking new ground stylistically -- it encourages me that my favorite all-time comic book hero is still vital and valid! :)

Clever selling tactics, but very annoying for the buyer, tricked me into thinking this was the dark knight film! Don't fall into the same trap!

I enjoyed this and for me it was a first dive into such a collection of animated stories. I found each of the styles interesting and the stories fun and exciting but in some cases I felt that some of the stories was simply too short. I also feel the best two films were left to the end and to be honest after seeing those I was expecting more. I must say for a purchase which includes 6 short films I was surprised that this is not chaptered/bookmarked! It's probably one reason why I won't watch again in a hurry - without the bookmarks it makes it difficult to view my favourite shorts. I also found it really dark and really difficult to watch in full sun on the train - definitely a film to enjoy at home on the TV/computer.
