Great movie with great scenes! I only wish it was slightly longer with a bit more action.

Great movie

"You'd die for them?" ... "Yes, Riddick, I would, I'd die for them" .... .... "I said I'd die for them Riddick, not you, come on!!" .... .... "not for me! ... not for me!!!!!!" Absolutely perfect - the quintessential essence of space opera. It happens to be a pretty good thriller as well, clever, funny, with a crystalline dark undertone. The creatures are a final answer; life as an expression of entropy. The icing on the cake - it features the perfect woman - Claudia Black - albeit sporting the roughest occa accent, and her role is far too small, but still.

My emotions watching this film were, hmm okay this is another slow paced survival horror, maybe they'll all turn against each other, quite cool to have let us see the enemy early on and learn a bit about him, he's quite cool real.....wait what the hell was that? OH CRAP CRAP CRAP etc. The film effortless shifts pace and focus as the night falls. Forget what you know about Riddick from "the chronicles of riddick" he is much more baddass in this film and a more interesting character by far. Definitely one worth watching and for once a I genuinely didn't see the end coming!

richard riddick is possibly the greatest anti hero to ever grace the screen. a true gem of a movie

I first show this film when a friend of mine gave me a copy of this film. i had to see this film twice, the first time i wasn't impressed but the 2nd time i though it was a great film. the story is slow at first until the middle of the film when the action gets going. but all in all the film good, not great in the way like LOTR but good in a diffrent way, the suspense is good and the scenario is like any other survial horror, one by one the characters are killed until the few surviers get off the planet to safety. story is interesting, not much charater devolpment or chemosrty. i saw the sequal TCOR before Pitch black (not a good thing to do) but indoing that i liked pitch black more on the 2nd viewing. (i thorught pitch black was crap on first viewing). the story is contined on the short animated film Dark fury. not as good as the two live action films but its ok and serves as a brigde story between Pitch Black and TCOR.

One of those movies that comes out of nowhere and grabs you... Pulls you in from the opening scene onwards with well crafted characters, attention to detail and an immersive plot. Well worth the money.
