Description

The future isn't big enough for the both of them--the 21st century's most dangerous cop and the 21st century's most ruthless criminal. Sandra Bullock stars as a 21st century cop who resorts to desperate measures to apprehend a killer: she reanimates a no-holds-barred 20th century cop who had been sentenced to cryoprison, a cop known in an earlier century as the Demolition Man. When psychopathic killer Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes--Blade films) escapes cryoprison during a mandatory parole hearing, only officer Lenina Huxley (Bullock--Crash, Miss Congeniality films) has a play to stop a criminal rampage from causing havoc in her now-peaceful world: free the one man capable of stopping Phoenix--officer John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone--Rocky films, Rambo films). Now, two men from another time bring a level of nonstop action long unseen in this future, idyllic world.

  • Wrong aspect ratio

As of today the movie is still playing in the wrong aspect ratio 1.85.1 instead of 2.35.1 getting a refund.
  • What is this?

What is up with the aspect ratio? Not only is the aspect ratio wrong, it also looks slightly squeezed. How did this get past QA? I'll be asking for a refund if this isn't fixed/replaced with the original widescreen version.

Disappointing to see this has been uploaded in the incorrect ratio. It should be 2.35:1, not 1.85:1.
  • Great film, but the HD version is ermm odd

You know the film and it’s clever funny and action packed. Now the really big gripe is the quality and “aspect” this film is in. It’s got the right colour intensity but the god awful aspect ratio makes me feel like they’ve scaled it or I’m zoomed in.. being picky the grain and softness is all over the place, needs another transfer (4K cough)… not fab not terrible just okay.
  • Fun movie but poor transfer

Bought this movie as it’s one of my retro favourites but very disappointed with the transfer. Apple tag it as widescreen but it would be better if they confirmed the actual screen ratio before you buy. It’s 1.85:1 not the films original scope ratio of 2.35:1. The transfer isn’t the best either.
  • Not the Best HD Transfer

The movie is a slice of quality 90’s sci-fi action. Leave your brain at the door at sit back for a genuine cheesy classic, with big set pieces, truly funny moments and great turns from Stallone, Snipes and Bullock. Unfortunately, in deciding to upgrade from SD to HD for iTunes, Warner Bros. have hacked the aspect ratio from 2.35:1 to 1.85:1. This is definitely noticeable and makes some of the action feel claustrophobic. The actual transfer quality isn’t great either. Nevertheless, it’s staying in my collection - until WB probably bring out a 4K remaster in 12 months and take more of my money!

Bought this last year in SD as it’s such a gd film. But now it’s in HD. I know this isn’t apples fault, but come on studios. Just upgrade the existing file so we don’t need to keep rebuying. 4 star movie. 1 star experience

One of those "I must see" films. Very very kool, and there are some classic quotes from Snipes: "Why do some Mother F****** always try to iceskate uphill?" and the bit where Sly is being mocked is good too: "oh he doesn't understand the 3 seashells" - you'll be quoting these for a few days afterwards

This movie i can watch time and time again and never get bored of it, maybe its not the most amazing movie of all time, and its not some great oscar winning epic, but i have to admit its my top movie as embarrassing as it maybe! id recommend this to anyone
