  • Great movie but awful cropped presentation

    Bought on Apple TV and must confess it is first disappointing purchase, the movie whilst in widescreen is in a very poor pan and scan ratio that crops and degrades the image. Not recommended on Apple TV as is. A pity as it is an excellent war movie.

    I agree with previous reviewers - this film should be presented in its original aspect ratio and not cropped to 1.85:1. The iTunes version of The Fly (1958), another Fox title, has received the same cropped treatment.

  • POOR QUALITY CROPPED VERSION OF GREAT FILM

    This is a great film BUT unlike the DVD this is a mushy cropped for tv version. The end titles are in glorious cinemascope and look crisp and contrasty revealing the quality of the image as it should have been. SHAME on I-Tunes - They need to fix this. : (

    Fantastic movie which captures the D-Day landings in remarkable accuracy and the incredible acting of the all-star cast gives a fitting and timeless memorial to the men who fought and died on one of the most momentous days in our history.
