Description

Director Davis Guggenheim eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Mr. Gore's personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change. A longtime advocate for the environment, Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way. "Al Gore strips his presentations of politics, laying out the facts for the audience to draw their own conclusions in a charming, funny and engaging style, and by the end has everyone on the edge of their seats, gripped by his haunting message," said Guggenheim. An Inconvenient Truth is not a story of despair but rather a rallying cry to protect the one earth we all share. "It is now clear that we face a deepening global climate crisis that requires us to act boldly, quickly, and wisely," said Gore.

  • An Exaggeration but an Eye-opener too

It's not perfect as a film, or even as a scientific document; but it makes a point we need to hear. And let's face it: this is a more enjoyable way of hearing the message than from the PC nazis. Watch it but don't quote it in an argument
  • An Inconvinient Lie

Not only does he spend half the time talking about how he grew up, he talk a load of rubbish. Hurricane Katrina had nothing to do with Global Warming. 2005 wasn't the hottest year on record, 1934 was, 2005 isn't even in the top 10. Just another huge scam from Al Gore. This film has put me off saving the planet if people like him are going to profit from our worry.
  • Inconveniently misleading

Al Gore, as a politician of some merit, delivers a superb performance as the bringer of doom. The only real problem is that some of the "inconvenient truth" he delivers are grossly misleading at best or complete fabrication. But this is how it is with propoganda (on either side of the 'global warming'). The film at best depicts one world view that may be helpful to highlight the potential perils of doing nothing. However, as proven in court in the UK, it should not be considered "educational" as the majority of facts lack any clear backing. Having said all that, Al Gore is a likeable person and his delivery is a perfect piece of stage craft. Just don't think that Polar Bears can't swim.
  • A very important movie

It should be saig again - This is a very important movie, possibly the most important of our time. It puts the problem of Climate Change into perspective and states it in a way that almost everyone could understand. Some say this is a boring movie, I didnt think it was, it is enthralling and very informative. It is even listed as a documentary so if your looking for entertainment, your in the wrong place. It is perhaps one sided, but Al Gore isn't going for an even debate, he is clearly arguing for one side and isnt going to ruin his argument by putting other ideas across and not challenging them. A very good movie and deffinitly worth watching.
  • Packed full of half-truths

Beware. This film is full of inaccuracies. Gore should be ashamed of himself. A court in the UK has found against this film on numerous points of fact, as the Labour government was trying to force schoolkids to accept it as truth. This film is pure PR for the IPCC which itself is totally compromised. The fact that Gore and his acolytes fooled both the Academy and Nobel prize judges is nauseating. iTunes should keep the price high in my view, but also make available The Great Global Warming Swindle, which, while also flawed, presents the case against the dogma that comes out of An Inconvenient Truth. (it features the co-founder of Greenpeace and others completely rubbishing claims made by Gore and the IPCC) The two films should be watched back to back, and common sense should be allowed to prevail, not the witless meanderings of a has-been senator.

An amazing documentary of global warming. Slighlty funny in parts and is so moving it makes anyone want to save the environment. I myself am an eco-warrior and I strongly agree with everything that is said in this film.
  • Informative and Scarily Honest

Firstly, why is everyone giving star ratings of the movie based only on its price? The object of writing reviews of movies is to give opinions on the movie- not its price! If reviews were to review prices, most of the movies here would be customer-rated 2.5 stars. Anyway... This film obviously makes a lot of people uncomfortable, but only because it's so frighteningly blunt and to the point. If it scares you, well; maybe that's a good thing. The whole movie is very easy to follow and relatively engaging with the aid of Al Gore's keynote presentation that accompanies his talk. I try to be as green and environmentally friendly as possible, and this film provided more motivation for me to do so with small tips on easy ways to incorporate green habits into one's lifestyle without hassle. Again, I suppose this film isn't for everyone; but I found it to be genuinely informative and interesting. If you're trying to do your part to help out the planet, then this film is for you. If you think Bush has been doing a good job, well, I can't believe you even know how to read this- and I guess this film is not for you. But in my opinion, £6.99 for a film that may change your life (or at least your habits) is not much to ask. Even if you don't buy it from here, my recommendation is to see it.

Overall the price is bad, the movie is bad. I mean how can we actully call this a movie. Its more like a lecture on how everyone else is bad apart from him, and how "global warming" is gonna kill us all. BULL. So yeah all round rubbish
