Description

From one of Charles Dickens' most beloved novels comes some of his most unforgettable characters, vibrantly brought to life by a star-studded, award winning cast. In Nicholas Nickleby, young Nicholas and his family have enjoyed a comfortable life - but then again, this is Dickens. Nicholas' father dies, the family is left penniless, and Nicholas, his sister, and mother venture to London to seek help from their Uncle Ralph. Unfortunately, Ralph's only intentions are to break up the family and exploit them, and Nicholas is sent to work at a school run by the cruel and abusive Wackford Squeers.

Found this more than a little boring. A great cast but the film just seemed to drag on. I persevered for as long as I could as I had downloaded it to watch on the plane. Eventually started to whizz through bits to get to the end. Sorry this one was not for me.

i read the book and was looking forward to it. but its not as good as the book (which is quite dull in places anyway )and lacked some of the humour from the book. The male lead spoke with such a sappy voice all the way through by the end i couldn't stomach it. it was ok but nothing special and not worth paying for. wait until they show it on tv is my advice.

I love anything written by Charles Dickens, and Nicholas Nickelby is one of my favourites. This film definitely does the book justice.
