Description

In 1878 New Mexico, rancher John Tunstall (Terence Stamp) hires young gunmen to work on his property while teaching them to read and civilize themselves. When men working for rival rancher Lawrence Murphy (Jack Palance) shoot and kill Tunstall, the young gunmen take the law into their hands and soon earn monikers such as "Billy the Kid" (Emilio Estevez). Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Charlie Sheen and Dermot Mulroney also star.

    A different type of Western from the Clint Eastwood ones, but still just as enjoyable and fun to watch.

    Although not entirely historically correct, this tale of the legend of Billy the Kid has some real charm about itself which shines from the very start of the movie. Estevez plays a great "Kid" that almost makes you enjoy his rampage with that laugh and sense of humour. Other nice surprises in this movie are Jack Palance, Terence Stamp, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen & Lou Diamond Phillips who plays a great Chavez. Looks out for a cameo of Tom Cruise as a villian! Good movie followed by the sequel Young Guns II.
