    Amazing it is a great adventure with some battle scenes (that is expected in a pirate film) but they slipped a bit of romance and comedy in.

    The first movie in The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The Curse of the Black Pearl follows Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner played by Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom who go to rescue Elizabeth Swann played by Kiera Knightly from Captain Barbossa played by Geoffry Rush as he wants to rid him and his crew from an everlasting curse thrust upon them where they cannot die. What I like about Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is that it's got a simple plot but it works so well for the film. Johnny Depp steals the show with his incredibly funny performance as Captain Jack Sparrow. Geoffry Rush is really menacing as Barbossa as well. The action is excellent and the sword fights are well choreographed. Ultimately it's a great film except it's slightly too long and Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly are a bit wooden. Overall great fun!!

    One of my all time favorite films. Jonny Depp is fantastic but any true pirate lover will know that Geoffrey Rush's performance as the evi Capt. Barbossa made this film what it is. Combine hilarious dialogue, breathtaking action, fantastic ship battles with quite possibly the most fearsome and well played pirates in all of the seven seas. Buy it, Me-hearties, YO-HO! After sifting through pages of complaint about the price, I would like to remind the reviewer that he/she is not a finacial advisor (and let's face it you can't really call us film critics either). I recommed you buy this movie. If you wish, you can buy it now on itunes for the price they believe it is worth.
