A humorous and heartfelt look back at the adventures of childhood. Set in suburban Chicago in the late 1980s, the story centers on ten‐year‐old Jake Doyle’s (Fegley) herculean quest to get the latest and greatest video game system for Christmas.

Had Potential ... A real Shame!

I was a teenage gamer in the eigthies, so this film really appealed to me. After watching the trailer I immediatley purchased it and got myself comfy on the sofa.
The storyline is ok, but it is let down by the ending. Some people will probably enjoy this film so I do not want to mention any spoilers.
The eigthies was a fantastic decade. I would have given this 2 stars but the woke derogatory and untrue line about the eighties knocks it down to 1 star.
The trailer is good, but the film is not. I returned the film to iTunes and got my money back. A real shame!

It had a bit of everything in it, but message at the end was quite touching…the material things in life are fun but it’s not about the toys you get it’s about the memories with family that last a lifetime, well made and had a bit of the ‘stand by me’ film feel about it
