Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters. In search of his next big story, journalist Eddie Brock lands an exclusive interview with convicted murderer and death row inmate Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), who discovers Eddie’s secret and becomes the host for Carnage, a menacing and terrifying symbiote. Eddie and Venom must get past their contentious relationship and work together to defeat Carnage. Directed by Andy Serkis (Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle), the film also stars Michelle Williams, and Naomie Harris as Shriek.

The CGI of Venom was absolutely garbage. The internal conflict and attempted humour of Venom and the host just totally ruined the film for me. I thought the first film was great and felt totally ripped off when I bought this monstrosity. Seriously, don’t buy it.

A fitting sequel that does justice to the first film. Full of action, emotion and plenty of laughs.
  • An OK film

Didn’t enjoy this game as much as I thought I would. Story was all over the place, but loved the interaction between Venom and Tom Hardy. The acting generally was good but I don’t think this is one I will rush to watch again.

The first Venom film was disappointing to me. Too long, a nonsensical plot, with Tom Hardy’s performance and the characterisation of Venom being the only saving graces. This sequel - despite still suffering from some terrible attempts at humour - is at least a step in the right direction. It benefits from a shorter running time, a better story and a much stronger antagonist. Carnage’s big screen debut is pretty much spot-on thanks to great CGI, and Woody Harrelson, who not only understands Cletus Kasady completely, but relishes in playing the character. Tom and Woody’s chemistry, along with Naomi Harris as Shriek and a surprise ending all make Let There Be Carnage an enjoyable flick. Still not the amazing Venom film I’m waiting for, but still better than the first movie.

The first movie was hardly ground breaking but at least it kept me watching until the end. Venom 2 is one of the worst movies I’ve seen from the marvel/dc universe.

Acting saves this film. The script isn’t strong. The effects look budget. It is clear when filmed in the studio. The direction is poor - Andy what’s going on mate you can do better. This looks like an old style TV movie sequel. Where is the scale of the first film? Really disappointed. Tom saves it just.

Tried to download again. Still not working. Any point releasing something that doesn’t work?
