Description

You ever hear the one about the cop, the blonde, the psycho and the mafia princess? Birds Of Prey And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When one of Gotham’s most sinister villains, Roman Sionis, and his sadistic right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city’s wicked underbelly is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.

Is this a masterpiece of the cinematic art? No. However, If you like Harley Quinn, want to entertained for a couple of hours with a bit of action and sass to take your cares away, I’d say this hit the spot.

Like all recent DC films (except Wonder Woman) it is lacking heart and soul, so I really found it impossible to care about the characters. It should work - it’s based on interesting characters and has a good storyline, but the characters fall flat, especially Huntress. Black Canary was half decent but didn’t get enough screen time. Cassandra Cain, Harley Quinn and Montoya all nearly worked, but the film was so busy with different characters nobody got enough screen time to be a fully developed character. Harley Quinn, for example, has previously proven to be a great character, but spent most of the film fighting and in action scenes, so she came across one dimensional and often quite annoying. The amount of exposition voice-overs by Harley Quinn meant I heard way too much of her voice over the film. Other characters could have done voice-overs for their own storylines. That way we would have learnt more about the characters and their personality without getting so over-exposed to Harley’s voice. The violence should have been more violent, the characters louder, Harley Quinn stronger, the music more chaotic, the outfits brighter - they should have made the film much more quirky and mad.
  • Dull, unimaginative, annoying

I didn’t want to buy this, but a friend wanted to watch it. Should have just waited for Sky. I enjoyed Suicide Squad. This is a mess. Do yourself a favour, don’t pay for it.

No wonder DC comics aren’t able to compete with Marvel. Such a poor film, really disappointing!!

Everything in this is done so well, the script, the acting, the visuals It's doing something a bit different to other DC movies, and it doesn't take itself as seriously as the dark knight etc., but it still has important messages about identity, power imbalances and female emancipation Also the soundtrack is just great
  • Actually quite a good film
