Description

Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fresh, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death. With an all-star ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell, KNIVES OUT is a fun, witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.

In the style of an Agatha Christie mystery, but ruined by Daniel Craigs' abominable accent. No idea how anyone thought that was acceptable.

A weak episode of Murder, She Wrote at best. Trying to gloss over a mediocre script with an A list cast reeks of desperation. Jessica Fletcher did it better and then some.

I just randomly put on this film when round a friends house but oh my was it a good choice. I absolutely love this film, it’s a murder mystery and the plot was great with twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I’ve since seen this film another 2 times and it’s been better each time as I’ve noticed other clues in what people have said or in what I’ve seen which lead to later parts of the film. The only thing I thought could be improved for a sequel or something is Daniel Craig’s accent in this film, it’s fine but I definitely would have preferred his normal voice instead of what he had in the film. Other than that, I absolutely loved this film and would recommend it to most people.
  • The Ol’ inheritance murder plot given a fresh coat of paint.

The slow start & Daniel Craigs accent (sounding like Alpha from the walking dead franchise) were the only two detractors for this film. The pacing picked up towards the end and although the murderer was fairly obvious the way it was presented leaves room for you to second guess yourself. The acting was decent, including Daniel Craig (despite the accent), and overall this was a fairly enjoyable film. Not as good as the hype would have you believe, but certainly worth a watch. P.S Projectile vomit warning for anyone who dislikes seeing that in cinematography.

A well acted, perfectly written work of art. It’s very involved but filled with humour and lots of twists and turns.
  • A wasted opportunity

A highly anticipated film for me but highly deflating. With such an all star cast this should have been fantastic however it isn’t and Daniel Craig’s ascent is the clincher for me.
  • Terrible considering the huge cast

Huge cast , where they have clearly spent a fortune on, but a terrible story, if you need a film to fall asleep to this is it. It sits between not being a comedy and not being a thriller it’s just bad. It’s free on prime and I nearly contacted amazon to pay me to watch if. So glad I never bought it here on iTunes. Avoid even if it’s 99p. Anna who seems to be in so many things these days is particularly bad, I do not rate her at all.

Good film and plot, yes Daniel Craig’s accent is very strange but it’s not terrible! Certainly worth a watch, very good film compared to many that have been released over the past 2 years
