Description

Combining the tense, psychological investigation of killer classics such as Silence of the Lambs and Zodiac with fast-paced twists, turns and edge-of- your-seat action, Night Hunter is one of this year's darkest and most daring thrillers. On the hunt for an elusive serial rapist and murderer, battle-hardened cop Marshall (Henry Cavill: Man of Steel, Mission Impossible: Fallout) crosses paths with vigilante duo Cooper (Ben Kingsley: Gandhi, Sexy Beast) and Lara (Eliana Jones) as they trap online predators and deliver their own extreme methods of justice. When Lara is kidnapped, Marshall, Cooper and the police hunt down the perpetrator but the psychologically damaged man they capture only deepens the mystery surrounding the killings. Good-cop Rachel (Alexandra Daddario: True Detective) believes the captured killer, who is linked to years of female abductions and murders, is harbouring multiple personalities, one of which may hold answers. But with Marshall taking a harder stance, pressure from the Commissioner (Stanley Tucci: The Hunger Games franchise), and a public out for blood, the plot thickens.

Really, I don’t know why it received so many negative reviews here. Basically I really enjoyed it. Ben Kingsley’s character was a little weak. A few minor plot holes like what happened to Glasow and his wife. I thought the performances and characterisation was strong. I loved Henry Cavill’s voice. Brendan Fletcher gave just an amazing, amazing performance. Overall the film flowed very well with some excellent camera and lighting work. Yes, the cut could have been better. The twist could have had more impact so could the ending of the villain. Comparing it to Silence of the lambs is a little unfair as that film was made by Jodie Foster and, mainly, that Welsh bloke. Bottom line: an enjoyable crime thriller.

Editing and pacing all over the shop. The music is awful - has this be re edited with new music because it’s just awful. You can see it was trying to be something.....but what ?!!

Why wasn't this in cinemas or marketed properly?

Where did they find her ?! Totally unbelievably weak and pathetic portrayal of a homicide detective - no way a homicide detective could have such a simpering, sympathetic voice when dealing with a serial rapist/ murderer - and that the Police would let such an incompetent , inexperienced and over- sympathetic officer lead the questioning of the suspect ( who allegedly killed six police officers as well ! )
  • Awesome
