Description

FAT tells the far-fetched but completely true history of how our country became so unhealthy. In 1970, just over 1. 5 million people had been diagnosed with Diabetes in the United States. Now over 30 million have Diabetes. What's even more alarming is that 100 million people, 1 in 3, have Diabetes or are Pre-Diabetic. This is not to mention the 40% of the population that are obese. How is this possible with the non-stop flow of new diets, exercise machines and our general obsession with health and weight loss? We're as unhealthy as ever. The truth is that we have pretty much had everything completely upside-down and backwards. FAT traces a detailed history spanning 150 years to show how misinformation and outright lies have become "truth. "

I’ve been a fan of Vinnie for some time now and this in my opinion is on par with his book (which is awesome). It’s not just for those who want to lose weight, in fact I’ve never had to. It is a lifestyle way of eating that will improve the way you feel and perform on a daily basis.

Sometimes something comes along in your life that completely changes the way you see things. This film does exactly that with food. This film should be shown in every high school, yes even *that* scene. People need to know what they are doing to their body following the “standard” dietary advice.

A history of how a system got it wrong and was exploited. Seen everywhere, the results of a disastrous serious of campaigns such as food pyramid has caused suffering and chronic illnesses to increase. Vinnie turns back time without the help of Cher, to reveal the key figures and flawed / unproven theories.watch the film, listen to the podcast - Fitness Confidential and buy the book of the same name and Eat Happy by Anna Vocino. Realise what feeling good actually feels like.

If you’re aware of Vinnie Tortorich and the term NSNG, then you are already on the road to better health. Everyone else shall receive a much more polished and entertaining visual interpretation of his podcast. All the highly respected names in the low carb field are interviewed and give solid evidence as to why we have been mislead and miss sold on nutrition. It is a documentary to pass to others. Those that already benefited from low carb/keto/carnivore/NSNG now have a genuine and entertaining film that they could pass to friends and relatives to allow them to think it out for themselves. That leg amputation is possibly the most sobering visual I’ve seen in any film - well done for having the courage to include it.

For those of us who have followed Vinnie down the rabbit hole of nutrition this doc reinforces what we know to be true and accurate. Nevertheless there is always something new to be learned and for the uninitiated this doc is a must watch. The archive footage is extremely good and puts things in historical perspective without baffling you with too much science, although the science is in there. Congratulations to Vinnie and the team, and also the loyal fan base who helped fund this movie.
