Description

In this roller coaster ride between Africa and Asia, two first time filmmakers embed themselves on the front-lines of the rhino species genocide where they are given exclusive access to the war unfolding. Carving out six months for the project, the women quickly find themselves immersed in a world far larger and more dangerous than they had imagined, only emerging from their odyssey four years later. Gaining unprecedented access to the rangers in South Africa's national parks and with extraordinary undercover footage showing how the horn is processed, packaged and sold in Asia, filmmakers Bonné de Bod and Susan Scott capture a never-before-seen panorama of the global trade in rhino horn. Winner of fifteen awards, including Best Documentary at the San Diego International Film Festival.

This documentary provides a fascinating and disturbing insight into the WW network of corruption, greed, violence and misguided demand for the horn of the poor innocent unwitting Rhino. Please watch and increase your awareness and empathy for the plight of the Rhino.

The best I’ve ever seen. This is documentary that will move you to action against trafficked wildlife globally (once you have recovered from the shock, anger, shame and sorrow). It covers this tragically complex issue in a way which gives the viewer new insight into this crisis as well as capturing the soul of this painful disaster which seems to have no end. Stroop should be a set-work documentary for anyone looking to educate themselves on current affairs of this planet and a species intent of driving itself to disaster not long after we have killed of the last of these living dinosaurs. Gripping and at times, hard to watch. Yet a must watch to uncover and learn about the tragic rhino poaching issue across Africa and Asia. Wonderful filmmaking & dedication to make this film. Oscar worthy.
