Description

One month every year, five highly competitive friends hit the ground running in a no-holds-barred game of tag they’ve been playing since the first grade—risking their necks, their jobs and their relationships to take each other down with the battle cry “You’re It!” This year, the game coincides with the wedding of their only undefeated player, which should finally make him an easy target. But he knows they’re coming…and he’s ready. Based on a true story, “Tag” shows how far some guys will go to be the last man standing.

Seems to be a fair few people declaring this film ‘not funny’. But here’s the thing - humour is completely subjective. So just because one person doesn’t find something funny doesn’t mean others won’t. I enjoyed this film, I found it funny, I laughed. I’ve no idea whether you will or not. It’s quite gentle, silly humour which was what I was in the mood for. It’s also got moments that are quite sweet - especially as it’s based on real life, enduring friendships. The end credit clips are lovely for the same reason. I thought Isla Fisher’s performance was a bit jarring, I wasn’t so keen on that, but otherwise I enjoyed the film

Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad movie. Given the actors have done some funny movies in the past, this is such a bad bad movie! Not worth the 99p I paid to rent it.

Really really bad. Not funny. And ‘spoiler’ the Sherlock Holmes feel is really not fitting ....or funny here. Terrible movie. Terrible actors.

Quite simply the worst film I've seen in a good few years. Wasn't even worth the £2.99 i paid for it.
  • Extremely boring “comedy”

OK, so the basis of the story is that these people have been playing the game “It” (“Tag”) for 30 years for one whole month every year. Potentially a good basis for a fun film and the opening monologue tells a good story about staying young in the mind by never stop playing. Unfortunately, less than 5 minutes into the film it has deteriorated into an extremely unfunny, badly written, badly acted, cringeworthy and utterly boring film that seemed to drag on forever. The problem is that you can see that on paper the story, the scenes and the overall concept could have been really good but the sheer ineptitude of the entire cast and crew failed to deliver anything worth watching. A disappointing waste of time.

Sounds a great concept. True story of a group of friends playing a thirty year game of tag. How the film makers contrived to make a film this bad is quite astounding. The characters are supposedly based on real people but they are the most one dimensional stereotyped crowd I’ve ever seen on screen. I didn’t care about them or their game. The forced crudity and crow barred humour meant I wanted them all to lose, as long as they did it as quickly as possible.
  • Not amazing but not awful!

I know a lot of the reviews have been largely negative which nearly swayed me not to watch! It’s an easy watch film with some decent laughs and humour. Yes there’s some bad language but it’s all in context to the plot... maybe some reviewers have set their expectations too high.
