Tomb Raider

If you didn't like the Angelie Jolie version, you might enjoy this reboot of the franchise. This was more like the video game rather than get distracted by an actress that has a famous relative Good to know that Alicia will be back in this role in 2021

I skipped the Angelina editions and wasn’t sure what to expect here. More serious film perhaps? In fact, it was a light fun film, especially the cycle part. Stunning to look at and funny parts especially when buying a weapon. FIlm 7/10 4K 8/10

They did a passable Tomb Raider film. Lara Croft runs, jumps, fights and uses a bow an arrow in a way very similar to the later video games, but there is just something really bland about Lara, the film, the storyline, etc. It lacks the magic, the sass, the personality of the Angelina Jolie films, which might be less ‘based in reality’ than this film, but contained a lot more excitement and creativity. This really isn’t a film that I’ll remember or recommend. There’s nothing that makes it special or stands out from other action films - there’s a couple of puzzles she solves, but I think that was what was really missing for me. There needed to be more puzzles, seeing her figure things out, more use of relics, interesting destinations etc. The previous Tomb Raider films were very visually exciting. In this film Lara runs, Lara fights, Lara gets beaten up A LOT in a very similar location. And at the beginning there are a lot of superfluous scenes about Lara before the storyline begins. She’s a bike messenger; she’s riding her bike, she’s delivering things, she’s in a bike race. I found her intro scenes dull and they really seem to be trying to make her seem like she’s nothing special - just a regular girl, doing a bike delivery job. She needs to be interesting and iconic to have a whole movie about her, surely. Not just an average girl. Lara Croft hasn’t been an icon for decades because she’s boring.

Feel as if I wasted time watching this film. Could have been so much better.

Shot with a certain gritty realism, which is nice - it's less cartoonish than the earlier versions. But still not a great movie - the casting of Vikander is a classic case of miscasting, she gives it her all but her persona is sadly lacking charisma, she's a rather dour character. It's a fine movie for a cheap rental, lots of explosions & a few moments of excitement but not a memorable movie.

Good movie £0.99 rental totally worth it

For those of you that played the video game, than watched Angelina Jolie provide knock performances in the previous two films. You were probably keen to see how Alicia Vikander would make the role of Lara Croft her own. Well I can say this film did not disappoint. It’s a great example of how a studio can take a successful film and reboot it with a fresh cast, story and it keeps you wanting more at the end. Role on the sequel.

unrealistic, poor story line, compared to the other TR films, which are of course not based on real life anyway, don't waste your money until its low cost pass the time entertainment. However, good performances from all actors considering.

This was so much better than the past 2 movies.Everything just made more sense. I really enjoyed watching and can definitely see this as a movie you could easy watch time and time again

This film is brilliant and follows the new genre of tomb raider games really well. I found this movie easily surpasses the previous tomb raider films and the lady they have playing Lara Croft they could not have cast it better. This film is highly enjoyable with action all the way through it and a great story line. I can’t wait for more sequels!
