I have tried watching this film again…nope can’t do it. It’s slow and boring. I always stopped at the half way time.

Bought it, watched it, now can't remember any scenes at all. However, I can with the original. Either i'm losing my short term memory or this is a truly forgettable film.

It has to be said that blade runner 2049 is visually stunning but my god its boring. The original film had a good story and interesting characters that you were invested in, this film has none of that. Its at least an hour too long and is not a patch on the original fim sadly. Harrison ford looks bored and seems to be wanting to be somewhere else. I cant say i blame him i felt exactly the same. Having said that though if you are going through a bad spell of insomnia this should do the trick.

It’s a long film, and a journey. The beginning and especially the end is fantastic. The middle is a little bit drawn out for me. Great to look at, great to listen to but I’m left comparing it to Blade Runner which is also fantastic in 4K. Film 7/10 4K 8/10
  • An example of the perfect sequel

Simply put, this is the perfect sequel, extension of image, music and story. Despite being over 2 and half hours, the film has perfect timing. A treat for real film fans.
  • Good but a couple of gripes

The film has the atmosphere of the original. A lengthy film but the time went by so quickly as I was immersed in the visuals. A couple of negative points, I was struggling with the dialogue at times and got a little lost towards the end. Also I have to say I am not a fan of bringing back characters in any film that are CGI. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but the reappearance of a main character from the original film spoilt it for me. I found it unnecessary to see their face that wasn’t entirely realistic. This will be a film I will watch over and over though.
  • Nothing compared to the original

Storyline was ok but the pace was very slow and some parts of it just didn’t work and were like an ‘oh that’ll do’ add on or ‘don’t worry we’ll gloss over that bit’. Music wasn’t a patch on the original Vangelis, overall very disappointed which I was surprised about as the reviews were so good.
