Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

after ‘The Empire Strikes Back’.

A hollow reproduction of the past films with an unlikeable cast of characters. Visually, it’s a nice film. It reproduces some of the visuals of the past movies quite nicely in most instances. Unfortunately it all feels like an empty, superficial shell of those original films, almost like its a shiny new Disney attraction, rather than a film with any character. The protagonists are mostly unlikable and I found myself rooting for them to die. They say and do things (often when they’re being introduced) that make them pretty awful people. The cg re-creations of certain characters from the past are not very convincing and very odd looking too. Also, Darth Vader maybe shouldn’t have had speaking parts in this film. The actor who plays him sounds old and it’s jarring to hear supposed original trilogy era Vader with an old mans voice. It’s the best of the Disney Star Wars films, but that’s not really saying much.

So under appreciated, some of the best sciences in all the Star Wars movies come from Rogue One

Star Wars is my favourite franchise and I love Jedi’s and Sith more than anything, but I’ve always wanted to see a war film in the Star Wars universe. The plot is how the rebels got the plans and it should not be that nerve wracking but it found a way to be very suspenseful. This is definitely a plot film, but that doesn’t bother me I still cared about all the characters deeply and was saddened to see them perish in beautiful ways. Now my actual review, I loved the way it was filmed. The shots are so visceral and jumped off the screen in gorgeous ways. The cgi actually looked great and blended really nice with my favourite. Practical effects. All the acting was great, I don’t believe there were any bad performances. There were also some emotional moments as well. Especially in the opening and the end. Now the thing I loved most about this film is the action sequences. I felt like a little kid with my action figures and making them have blaster fights. Every fight scene was beautifully shot with glorious cinematography. Best scene was definitely the hallway scene with Darth Vader, he was badass in this film. Thank you

Only one of the Disney era worth watching

Now I’d like to say one thing. All u haters of this movie u do not know a masterpiece when I see one and this movie is truly a masterpiece. Loads new characters to love over and over had the perfect story plot to add to the Star Wars saga before getting to Luke and his sister and Han Solo. By far the best Star Wars movie even though the main characters died at the end it just proves not all hero’s win more like balance between good and evil. Even though the original darth Vader actor would’ve been a perfect return but I have to say James Earl Jones performance was perfect for the part.

The full original trilogy, The Prequel Trilogy, Solo, The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker are all audio described, so why isn’t this one? And why isn’t The Force Awakens? Please explain and/or fix.

Edwards (director) really understands what makes a great Star Wars film - If ONLY they had let this guy direct ALL the other STAR WARS films!!!!
