Description

From Marvel comes Doctor Strange, the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange, whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place – a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange – armed with newly acquired magical powers – is forced to choose whether to return to his old life or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.

The start of this movie had us gripped on the backstory of strange, however as the movie unfolded, literally; the story began to droop within the time and became repetitive, despite that being the purpose- the entertainment value is low. However the CGI, acting is fairly good and concept is great but lacked intense action moments to endure. We rate this a solid 3-3.5. Good character development and backstory, with little to show in the final sequences, which can be confusing especially.

4K (like all of the Disney/MCU films on iTunes). Would give it 5 stars otherwise.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s amazing talent is wasted on this film. I don’t get the 5 star ratings by some people, was I watching the same film as them?
  • No 4K hdr no sale Disney

Would have had this and pretty much all other marvel movies in my library if they’d been upgraded to 4K. Sooner or later they’ll (Disney and other owners) will need to realise that causing these splits is only going to impede their overall revenue growth. Movie itself was awesome.
  • A trippy, yet wonderful comic book movie.

A lovely introduction to a new superhero with mind blowing, trippy VFX. Benedict Cumberbatch is a great Doctor Strange. The first time I watched this film in the cinema , the first act was amazing, but the second and third act were a bit ‘trippy’ for me. But the more I watched the film, the more I started to appreciate and enjoy it. Can’t wait to see Doctor Strange join the Avengers in Infinity War. :). P.S. Love the soundtrack.

Great adventure movie with enough depth to keep up the interest and though bits are in for the effect there's enough that clearly comes from the Vedas and other places to be of interest to those who are interested in learning about more than just the mundane or escaping everything, there's a little bit more for those who are into learning wisdom morality attachment enlightenment etc. Worth watching at least if your interested in raising your awareness or like special effects! Ps when are they going to get around to more on the infinity stones? Will they bring the x men and the justice league and the fantastic four and the rest all together one day?!!
  • Marvel-ous
