Description

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition" includes approximately 30 minutes of extended footage never before seen in theaters! From director Zack Snyder comes "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," starring Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent in the characters' first big-screen pairing. Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.

  • Why is this a separate release in the UK

Crazy that this is a free extra on the theatrical release in the UK - but cannot be downloaded for this reason. In the US this is the only version available
  • Not the imax version

Amazing film but don’t purchase hoping it’s the imax remastered version released in 2021, it’s not. It’s just the original ultimate edition but in 4k.

Love this movie and wanted the ultimate edition in 4K. I’m happy it’s finally on iTunes
  • No Extras?

I'm just wondering if iTunes and Apple are taking the mickey here. First, the theatrical version only has this extended version as an extra, meaning it could only be streamed. This, despite the fact that the US store offers either version as the main item and the other as an extra so one could choose which one wanted as a download. Now belatedly we here in the UK are offered the extended version at a higher price price (at the time of writing) but apparently without the extensive extras. What's going on? Add the extras back in and I'll buy but am not paying a higher price for an inferior package (even though I prefer the extended version). Please iTunes, get your act together and look after loyal customers here in the UK. Update Sept 2021 - this looks like it is now the updated 4k version with better colours etc. So not quite such a disappointment but for the full price of £13.99 should really be offering extras much as the theatrical cut does with the option of streaming the alternative version. If the price comes down a bit, I will now consider purely for the opportunity of downloading this version (or thinking about it, maybe not as at the time of writing I would only be able to download the HD version on my MacBook hmmm)

Can people please learn to rate the movie itself rather than Apple’s way of handling the release?

You might as well lower the price to £5.99 now because having already bought the theatrical version that includes this as an irritating stream-only version, there’s zero chance of me paying full price for this
  • Not quite the same as the Theatricals iTunes Extra

Although the Theatrical cut has the extended Ultimate Edition as an iTunes Extra it is just the regular HD version, whereas this one is the more recent IMAX Remaster with new colour grading and in 4K DV.
  • I have this already but as a stream extra

Another money grab. £13.99 for the film I already have but as a download. The standard version has it included as an extra but “stream”.

I can't believe it took Apple so long to put this out! Terrible! The movie: easily the best comic book movie of 2016. Ignore the lesser, muddled version WB put out in the cinema and watch this one instead. It's marvellous.
