Description

In the high-stakes game of big-wall climbing, the Shark’s Fin on Mount Meru may be the ultimate prize. It’s a deadly route that has seen more failed attempts by elite climbing teams over the past 30 Years than any other ascent in the Himalayas. When Conrad Anker, Jimmy Chin, and Renan Özturk attempted the 21,000ft climb they suffered set back after set back including dwindling supplies, 10 feet snowstorms, and sub-zero temperatures. Beaten back even when the summit is in sight, heartbroken, and totally defeated, Anker, Chin, and Özturk face up to some extraordinary challenges that makes Meru a unique story of friendship, sacrifice, hope and obsession.

Meru is far more than a story about climbing and mountains - although it does that brilliantly - it's a tribute to the human spirit, our will to win against the odds and, above all, leadership. It's an absolute "must see"!

Makes the Hollywood popcorn mountain adventure movies look very sanitised. This is the real thing. Looks a tough life as a climber but totally exhilarating living on the edge, literally.

Amazing story of how 3 people defy the odds to summit Meru. Coming back from surviving an avalanche, broken skull and vertebrae, broken tent at 15,000ft, makes you think that really anything is possible in life. These guys manage to somehow do it. Very inspiring and the photography is amazing. Best film documentary I have seen for a while.

Fantastic documentary that takes you on a well crafted hair raising journey. Would defiantly recommend it to anyone that loves the outdoors and has a sense of adventure. "The test of the master climber"
