Description

From director Joe Wright comes "Pan," a live-action feature presenting a wholly original adventure about the beginnings of the beloved characters created by J.M. Barrie. Peter is a mischievous 12-year-old boy with an irrepressible rebellious streak, but in the bleak London orphanage where he has lived his whole life those qualities do not exactly fly. Then one incredible night, Peter is whisked away from the orphanage and spirited off to a fantastical world of pirates, warriors and fairies called Neverland. There, he finds amazing adventures and fights life-or-death battles while trying to uncover the secret of his mother, who left him at the orphanage so long ago, and his rightful place in this magical land. Teamed with the warrior Tiger Lily and a new friend named James Hook, Peter must defeat the ruthless pirate Blackbeard to save Neverland and discover his true destiny-to become the hero who will forever be known as Peter Pan.

Took a good story and made it weird. Part of it were good except for the bit with Hugh Jackman. I like him a lot as an actor but this did not fit him at all. Great for kids if they don't mind a complete film or like asking questions a lot.

Really disappointed. Terrible acting and lazy dialogue. Film looks great and for young kids it's probably fine but for grown ups who love the books and many brilliant takes on the stories, skip this and watch the fantastic 2003 Peter Pan instead

From the makers of Maleficent and I should have known better! Beautiful scenery, amazing CGI but really poor script, wooden acting and appalling casting. It's so indulgent and the director again misses the point, it's the story that matters and not his lovely effects. There is no character development in this and it's not interesting - it's 2 hours of exposition. It certainly is a talent to make a polished actor like Hugh Jackman look terrible but that is what this film does. The casting of Hook is incredible, I've seen 2x4 ply with better acting credentials. Its a really bad film and not worth the rental...

Good film for the kids. Terrible to watch for the adults. The voice of Captain Indiana Jones Cowboy Hook is sooooo bad! Not the prequel it should have been.

To start off, is this a good film? It's ok, I watched it in two sittings. Some parts of this movie are just weird, some are quite cool, some are crap, frankly. The plot this movie takes on is a sort of, how Peter became the Pan, the problem is the story concocted here is not at all within the story from J.M Barrie, more his crazy uncle. This is more of a tangent story, by that I mean, the whole pan story goes off on one and comes back in and out to attempt to link to the story line. I didn't like Peter in this, his accent was just annoying and bordering a theatre show. I just wished they'd tried less mental and more story. The songs they sing in here are out of place and pointless. I would rate this film a 6/10 at a push. It only gets this as it is a Peter Pan type movie otherwise as a straight forward fantasy it sits on a 4/10 for me. Rent it, don't buy it.
