Description

Narrated by David Attenborough and from the award-winning team behind Planet Earth comes the ultimate portrait of the earth's Polar Regions. The Arctic and Antarctic remain the greatest wildernesses on Earth. The scale and beauty of the scenery and the sheer power of the elements – the weather, the ocean and the ice – is unmatched anywhere else on our planet. Yet these harsh environments are teeming with life: home to iconic animals from polar bears to emperor penguins and from killer whales to wandering albatrosses. Using the latest camera technology to film on land, from the air, underwater and below the ice caps, Frozen Planet follows their fascinating lives throughout the seasons as they struggle to survive. With spectacular polar landscapes and amazing animal behaviour, often filmed for the first time, it captures the drama of an extreme natural world. With both Poles under grave threat from climate change, this extraordinary series may be the last chance to witness these great wildernesses before they change forever.

It is a must have in any collection! The best wild life series made up to date with the most advanced technologies. Sir Attenborough delivers his usual style; we are lucky to have him still going strong over 80. It is beautiful and educational at the same time.

David Attenborough and his team are truly remarkable people. True one scene was filmed in a zoo. However, this does not mean that the documentary was stunning. Loved it

The finest work of such an inspiration to human kind. The footage shown in frozen planet is simple breath taking and an absolute pleasure to witness. Watch it and feel the emotion, mostly good ofcourse but a certain part during the series really opened my eyes, and tear ducts. The power of nature, need I say more? Ps. To the writer of the previous comment, if you think you can hide a camera in a snow hole where a polar bear and her cubs are sleeping an feeding and get the most finest footage ever created, and come away unscathed then please DO write to the BCC, you clown!!

Great season with spectacular footage and for all saying that it is wrong shooting in the zoo, I would bet that you would be complaining more if a person or animal died to obtain that footage.

The series is great, awesome photography, stunning images as everyone would expect and of course David Attenboroughs voice. The disappointing bit is that on the UK store I can't get the episode "On Thin Ice" which is part of the series. A great disappointment at the end of an epic nature documentary.
