Description

The universe is almost impossible to comprehend - 13.7 billion years old, 93 billion light years across and filled with over 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of billions of stars. This series explains the vast phenomena of deep space by re-examining the familiar on Earth. Taking science away from telescopes and labs, Wonders of the Universe travels into the natural world and across the planet. These journeys are combined with spectacular images of space. Using stunning high definition CGI, this programme offers views of giant supernova, gamma ray bursts and recently discovered galaxies, and sheds light on the furthest reaches of the universe, just moments after its creation.

Astonishing series, well worth it if you like anything to do with space, the way he describes things makes it sound so simple and easier to understand. I don't buy many things off iTunes or app store, but I've brought this and all brian cox's other things that are available.

My mum adored this show when it was on tv but pbc's voice really irritates you after a while. And that's why I love chemistry, almost as much as physics! :P

I wish Brian Cox had been my Physics teacher. He has such passion and an understanding of the subject that he can make it easily understood. It took me two episodes to warm to him but now I am hooked. From theories of gravity, the speed of light to the beginning of the universe we want to know more. It is also really entertaining and fun which science is and should be. Do download!!

Absolutly amazing!!! My favourite episodes "Stardust" and "Falling". Love how the Series are made in different locations around world, so it's not only computer animation but mostly our planet which makes this TV Show perfect.

Solar System was cool. This is just a series where they realised they had nowhere relevant to go. You will be very bored of seeing Cox walk slowly toward a desert dune to the sound of trance music, or with him saying "billion, billion, billion..."' or when he destroys a mine to show us gravity. My personal favourite...when he states (as fact) that "we don't know what happened at the big bang, but we do know what happened one billionth of a second after".....er, no we do not! You should know better and I think I recall Professor Cox calling this something like "experimental evidence"....well, then it ain't evidence. Do yourself a favour and buy Wonders of the Solar System instead.
