  • Better than the sequel

In this one, Cox comes across as passionate and keen to explain. It was, for him, but a short journey towards patronising and drowned out by special effects (wonders of the universe). This one was excerpt however, and the guy does have talent. Shame about the follow-up...

Prof. Brian Cox's enthusiasm for discovery and astronomy is infectious. I would certainly recommend this series to anyone. I will shorty be purchasing the second series "Wonders of the Universe" as I watched that on tv an it was also a great series. I am looking forward to any future series too. Just to add - the soundtrack of this series is fantastic too. I would give this 10 stars if I could.

An absolutely excellent programme, the quality of the filming and CG is outstanding, and Brian Cox makes everything easy to understand, yet he addresses some of the most important aspects of our Solar System. incredible, I highly recommend.

Firstly, if you aren't interested in science, you should try to watch this, becuase it will get you gripped within minutes! If you know you arent that clever, this is perfect - the way Brian Cox describes everything (e.g. how Saturn and Jupiter affected life on Earth) makes it sound so very simple, like ABC! If you are totally into this subject, I think it is also amazing with its shots of this solar system and our world, and how he connects everything in the solar system to something on earth (e.g. the rocks in saturn's ring with a lagoon far north and its ice). It is very interesting indeed and 5 hours of science is sure to get other youngsters, such as myself, into science. Fantastic buy.
