Description

When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a hidden world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.

  • Absolute nonsense

Worst thing I have watched in a long time. Meaningless stories interspersed into the main story that still seem unrelated and completely pointless after several episodes. I won't be continuing to watch and suggest you don't bother even starting.
  • Shockingly bad

I read the book -- the title is intriguing. A necessary book. But at times it felt a bit like eating eating the pages. But at least it was serious. This is trite. The way it's done rubs in that the New Gods of Holywood and Media and Monotheism have won. Contemptible rubbish.
  • Pretentious and plastic

Was hoping to like this, but it is just really pretentious and plastic. The story stries to have something to say, but instead jist ends up seeming very contrived. There is no emotional depth, even when dealing in serious issues. It just lurks from exploitation, un-needed fancy camera work/FX and then back to some pretentious over-acting. It's like the left over food wrapper of what a really intelligent and subtle study of this subject could be, but fails totally. Personally, I would avoid and save the money.

Really enjoyed this. I didn’t like the ‘flashback’ parts but just skipped those. Can’t wait for season 2.
