Damned, Series 1

The cast and the writers promised so much... However, you get the impression that the goal was a bittersweet look at the UK's social services and the incompetence and weasel-like behaviour that thrive within the public sector. Not what you would call 'funny' and some characters are downright irritating. The removal of Isy Suttie's character and some of the incoming telephone calls would make this a mildly interesting drama. The series is probably well observed, but then who didn't know that it's crap trying to be a decent person in a social work unit?
