This show instantly had me gripped. For the first 8 episodes it was mesmerising, captivating, brilliant, and I was instantly hooked (the closest I've come to soothing those 'Breaking Bad' withdrawal symptoms in quite a while). Disappointingly, however, the writing and direction seemed to take a sharp nosedive in episode 9, with an inexplicable drop in quality and direction. I hoped this was just a blip, but, for me anyway, the show sadly never recovered and continued aimlessly stumbling through to its conclusion in episode 13, like a deflating balloon. A real shame I think, but I can't give it less than 4 stars as the first 8 episodes are nevertheless superb. Still definitely worth a watch I'd say, I'm still glad I saw it, I'll definitely give season 2 a go and maybe others won't see the conclusion of series 1 like I did anyway.
