Ok! I loved the original 1982 Annie. I still have the VHS under my bed. It was a great part of my childhood. The direct to dvd Disney version in 1999 was similar, but a much condensed version of the original. I really didn’t like that one. But this new 2014 remake is just a really bizarre film. I don’t really know if I like it or hate it. The songs were terrible reimagined versions of the original one, yet I kept bopping my head to some of them. The acting is just ALL Over the top, yet the little girl who played Annie was just too cute to hate. The cinematography is mediocre at times and really spectacular as well. To be honest, this film didn’t need to happen. I guess it’s good to introduce Annie to kids of today and they will get into the original one. It was like Alvin and the Chipmunks for me. When I was 10 when the film came out, I had know idea that it was based off the cartoon series between the 60s-90s. So I suppose it’s good for kids, but I just found it kinda pointless. I didn’t really feel anything for this film. I wasn’t bored. I wasn’t invested. I wasn’t excited. Nothing. A really pointless soul numbing, yet fun and cheesy film. 🤨

I hate this movie so much I wish they never brought it out I like the original Annie better this one hasn't got good songs as the other one has don't buy this movie it's a waist of money get the original Annie I went to see the musical in London that was the original cast of it it was brilliant

I just wanted to watch it over and over again but my sister hates it for some reason so I am not allowed to watch it .

Why have we heard so many people talking about Annie (2014) with disappointed voices? It is excellent! We particularly loved the music, choreography and the flow of subtle references to the original - intelligent! Because we were “warned” we deliberately chose to view this as a completely new film - NOT to be compared with the original. That allowed us to view it with an open mind and fresh, thankful eyes. I couldn't believe how bad this was so went back and watched the original(which is still great) This is what you get when you choose actors who can't sing for a musical because they are famous... The first film looks big budget with a cast that was (on the whole) chosen for their specific skill set... The second, doesn't.
