This movie is just genius. I love this movie Jk Simmons and milles teller are just amazing. The story was very interesting and what made it so good was how a student and master who both love jazz are basically bashing heads through the whole film and it’s riveting. This movie has not one dull moment it makes your stomach turn some scenes and gasp loudly One of my favourite films great job

Being a drummer myself I went into this film expecting mistakes and lack of synchronisation between picture and song however whiplash massively exceeded my expectations providing amazing performances and also telling an amazing story throughout.

I’m usually late to things so have only just seen this film- several years after its cinema release but, boy, what a film. I don’t ever recall a film getting me to jump off my sofa and punch the air right at the end! The performances are perfectly pitched and the playing is real and you can only be impressed by that. Highly recommended and even if you don’t like jazz I defy you to not be converted by the end!

Musicians are often remembered for their pieces, but many forget the work that goes into their creation. This is the ‘Black Swan’ of jazz, the ‘Revenant’ of musicians, the search for perfection. My 2nd favorite film ever made. An experience that makes one understand the terrifying life of artists, and yet only makes you want to work harder.

What a load of rubbish. You have to be a certain kind of person to engage with this film, as so much of it is laughable. Get Strictly Ballroom and feel good about the human condition, rather than angry, frustrated and sad about it.
