Description

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K in San Dimas… Ted "Theodore" Logan (Keanu Reeves) and Bill S. Preston, Esquire (Alex Winter), are in danger of flunking school most heinously if they fail their history exam, and if they do they’ll have to break up their totally bodacious band, Wyld Stallyns. No way! They meet Rufus (George Carlin) – an awesome dude in a phone booth that can travel through time, who informs them that the fate of the excellent future he comes from is in their hands and in the songs they will write together, so brace yourself amigos for a most unusual day! Bill & Ted crash from Ancient Greece to the Wild West to 19th Century Europe and the distant future, meeting famous figures and medieval babes along the way. The boys bag a bevy of historical heavyweights from each stop to take back for their presentation, but will they make it back in time to save not only their grades, but the fate of the world? History’s about to be rewritten by two guys who can’t even spell.

    30 years on and this film easily holds its own with modern comedies. It’s better than most of the unoriginal, mindless drivel that gets released ten-a-penny. Only just qualifies for being an 80’s movie but it is nonetheless- and it certainly shows. Everything from the clothes and hairstyles to the awesome music is brilliant. I loved this decade and is easily one of movies finest era’s. Especially for a movie such as this which does have some SFX but it didn’t have to rely on whole heap of that would not have held up today. As it is, what SFX there are work great. The comedy is spot on and the chemistry between the two leads is perfect. This is up there with my all time favorite films and one of the best things about watching it nowadays is having DTS audio play on a 5.1 or 7.1 system. I was never really into this music but this movie makes an exception. If you’ve never seen this before, do so. Regardless of your age, if you’re into genuinely funny movies but don’t particularly enjoy the majority of the seen-it-all-before, cookie-cutter crap that gets released these days, then you’ll love this. Oh and there’s also “Missy” who is Bill’s super-hot stepmom & is the same age as Bill. And can’t forget about the “bodacious babes,” the two princesses who will play a more prominent role in the second instalment, but nonetheless, they still show up here and deserve 5 stars all on their own. A most excellent 5 star movie !!
