I can’t fault the movie. Nor can anyone - I’m sure you know that already. The iTunes copy, however, has one irritating flaw - the captions are much, much too fast. When writing comes up on screen it only lasts for half a second despite being several lines long. It’s really annoying.

OMG. What a film. After visiting Kraków recently and taking trips to both main concentration camps and Schlinder’s museum, we were keen to watch the film. Superbly directed, fabulous acting but the story line .... what can you say? So emotional, gripping, horrible to imagine and unbelievable to imagine that Jews were treated like that. We had seen exactly where those trains pulled in. Had stood next to one of the gas chambers, seen the pile of glasses, luggage etc but this film made it all so real. It’s a film not to miss but get the tissues at the ready.
  • A masterpiece.

It’s astonishing to me how the human race could have been so barbaric as to try to exterminate an entire people. And we continue to do so to this day. This film brings to life the utter horrors of the holocaust. An absolute must watch for everyone.

I first saw this in 1993, as a youth in college. I thought it was moving, beautifully made and utterly shocking. I watched this again last week with my family and think it's quite possibly the greatest story ever told. It pulls out the embers of humanity and compassion from history's darkest hour. The films sits in a category on its own and considering the horror it appraises, it's really beyond comparison with any other film.
