  • Best Dark alien invasion movie

Now I’m not one for dark thriller/Horror but this was one the best. I remember coming home from school and me Mam says “would you want to see war of the worlds with us on Saturday”. I said “yeah sure what’s it about”. Then she says “it’s about an alien invasion set in the modern day Australia not knowing about the rest of the world”. Then on the Saturday it came out and I was seriously not prepared for it as she did not mention how dark it was going to be. I mean that scene where the humans were in the baskets that creeped me out even more cause u never saw what they were doing in the tripods I mean obviously it would been gross to see the inside of the tripod but in away it’s good thing they didn’t so I am going to give this movie a 7/10
  • Amazing film-making, but not for kids.

Using some hardcore Holocaust and 9/11 references, this is one of the grimmest “popcorn” alien invasion movies ever made. That said, there is no denying it’s thrilling and often harrowing stuff, with Spielberg’s incredible craftsmanship on full display. The last leg of the movie doesn’t measure up to the rest of the movie, and stops it from being great, but before that it’s a gripping, sometimes horrifying picture.
  • 4K is a nice upgrade

The film itself is pretty good and was nice to see the 4K upgrade. The picture quality is hit and miss, some scenes are gorgeous, some are grainy, some are soft. The detail in places is lovely and items shining using the HDR. Not the best but not bad considering the age of the film. Film 8/10 4K 7/10
  • Thank for you the 4K upgrade

So many things wrong with this film, CGI is good but the story line is so poor, check it out, you see people trying to escape but they're actually walking towards the explosions. It just a typical father / son blah blah blah film and actually not anywhere near the actual HG Wells version, shame as this could have been amazing but Hollywood got their say It's so bad i actually can't watch it due to the errors, drives me mad
