Description

From the creators of Despicable Me and the imagination of Dr. Seuss comes the much anticipated feature Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, a CG adaptation of the classic tale of a forest guardian who shares the enduring power of hope. The animated adventure follows the journey of a 12-year-old as he searches for a real Truffula Tree, the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To get it he must find the story of the Lorax, the acerbic yet charming character who fights to protect his world. Lending their vocal talents to the project are Danny DeVito as the iconic title character of the Lorax and Ed Helms as the enigmatic Once-ler. Also bringing their voices to the adventure are global superstars Zac Efron as Ted, the idealistic youth who searches for the Lorax, and Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift as Audrey, the girl of Ted’s dreams. Rounding out the cast are Rob Riggle as the villain O’Hare, Jenny Slate as Ted’s protective mother and beloved actress Betty White as Ted’s wise Grammy Norma. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is the third feature created by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment (Despicable Me, Hop).

This movie is very nostalgic to me. I’ve loved it ever since I was six or seven years old. Zac Efron is great as the main character Ted, and Danny DeVito just suits the Lorax. The villain is quite bland, however, but that’s not to say that the film is bad. I know lots of people don’t like this movie since it doesn’t do much relating to the book, but I assure you, this movie is insanely underrated.

It’s a good Dr Seuss film, some people just don’t understand the weird and wonderful world of Dr Seuss’s imagination and they don’t get why the trees are fluffy. They are meant to be that way because it’s not the normal world we know, it’s Dr Seuss’s imagination put into a book put into a movie.

Although I'm pretty unfamiliar with the Dr. Seuss stuff as a rule, I found this to be quite a touching little story, with a great message that couldn't be more relevant to these times. 'Unless someone like you, cares an awful whole lot, it's never going to get better. It's not.'
