With their wife and mother perishing in a fire, Arthur Kriticos (Tony Shalhoub) and his two children (Shannon Elizabeth and Alec Roberts) have been left with nothing but each other. Nothing, that is, until Arthur inherits an unusual glass and steel house from his mysterious uncle (F. Murray Abraham). But they soon discover there's something hideous trapped behind the house's crystal-clear walls: One by one, 12 evil spirits are being released and begin stalking the family. With the help of a psychic (Matthew Lillard) and an activist (Embeth Davidtz) determined to free the imprisoned spirits, Arthur and the children realize they've been lured into a trap. To leave the house alive, they must solve its deadly riddle; a puzzle that contains the key to their imminent salvation . . . or destruction.
