One of the most depressing films ever. Poor little lad. If they’d spent 2 and half hours punching him in the face it wouldn’t have been as upsetting. Even the “happy” ending was a massive kick in the groin. It should have been called “The very sad and needy little robot boy with the terrible life”.

A faithful adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s lost classic. 🍿🎥

This movie is not about AI, very misleading title, it's about fairy tale and the robot failing for it. This is Pinocchio 2001, not AI. Total garbage, one of the worst movies categorised as Sci-Fi, probably because of special effects. The plot is awful, makes no sense at all, don't waste your money! Don't let your kids watch it either, as it has very disturbing and disturbing scenes.

I can't help but think that this is better thank most of Spielberg's back catalogue. OK, maybe not Raiders, Jaws or ET, but A.I. really grabbed hold of me and tugged at whatever heartstrings I have. The film takes a completely unexpected turn around the halfway mark and it then gets even crazier at the end, so do not expect this to have anything like an predictable narrative. And yet none of this really matters. I think AI is a cracking film and a testament to the vision of Kubrick. Worth multiple viewings.

I will never be able to regain the time I spent watching this. I have a feeling that some A.I. designed this film to draw the life out of the viewers and feed off it. If it had any other name but Spielberg on the credits a lot more people would admit how terrible a film it is.
