One of the best movies of all time but still no 4K at the end of 2022? I have a feeling that this isn’t Apples fault as Universal Studios seem to be reluctant to release a lot of their back catalogue over here in the UK on 4K?? I have this on disc in 4K and can confirm it looks great so still hoping Universal get their act together and release this beautiful movie on iTunes uk soon.

Where is the 4K UK version!?

Hey Apple where’s the 4K version of E.T. It’s about time it was updated. Also some classic tv shows need updating to HD GET ON THE CASE APPLE GIVE THE CUSTOMERS WHAT THEY WANT.

My favourite film of all time, but it’s not been updated to the new 4K HDR transfer that’s been out for 4 years!!!!?! As others have said, the movie is on US iTunes in 4K HDR so it’s inexcusable this hasn’t been updated. Liaise with Universal to resolve it, and sort out Gladiator, The Mummy, Bourne Identity, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End with them at the same time. Why are we paying the same in the U.K. for a last generation product? Apple TV 4K was sold to everybody with Tim Cook beaming about 4K movies being upgraded when available.

Brillaint film, but would be 100000% more better with 4K treatment?! Stop leaving us out over here Apple!

Incredble and timeless film. Many people on here are asking why no 4K? The US iTunes Store has this film available in 4K thanks to its distributor Paramount who have been truly excellent in remastering its classics into 4K Dolby Vision. Sadly the UK iTunes Store film is distributed by Universal who do not have an interest in 4K Dolby Vision / Atmos versions for the UK market. Sadly, this is the case far over. Simply avoid purchases from Universal if their poor offering does not match your high standards.

Out on 4k disk in the U.K.; c’mon guys make it happen.

I don't usually write reviews, but I have to make an exception for this one, because I honestly think this is one of the best film ever made. Not just for the way it's filmed, putting you right there at "child's level", in this special world where adults (unless you're mom) are only figures without really a face (that it until you actually grow up, which is what happens to Elliott, the main character, towards the end of the film). This is such a beautiful, gentle film which manages to pull all the right strings at the right time. And so you can't help, laugh, cry and dream with it. And then of course John Williams' score which adds a whole dimention to an already perfect film, with some amazing performances from some of the best child actors you've ever seen. I don't know why would anyone NOT give it 5 stars. Just pefect.
