Me and my friend have a massive obsession with Tom Cruise and she showed me this film one day and I fell in love with it straight away. I discovered a massive liking for 80’s Rock music, the storyline is cliche and cheesy but it makes it funny. The acting is very well done and don’t get me started on the singing talent in this film. Tom Cruise blew me away as well as all the other actors. Great film, I would always recommend!

This was a great throwback to the days when people could watch a movie for pure entertainment, and not constantly criticize. Yes there are cheesy parts to it but they're part of the appeal that make this a great piece of entertainment. As for those who criticized Tom Cruise, just lighten up a little. For someone not known for singing he did a fine Axel Rose impersonation I think. Very light hearted and a great mix of ballads to reflect the moods throughout the film. All in all a very refreshing piece of collaborative work. If only the rest of Hollywood could get the mix right between comedy and compelling entertainment. The only criticism of the film I have has nothing to do with the acting or performance and is only related to aesthetics. I was worried when I saw how much weight Catherine Zeta Jones had lost. Thankfully at the end in the leather outfit she resembled her old self. For those who are thinking of buying or renting this film. Just ask yourself this question before you decide. Do you take things too seriously or are you a laid back and mellow person. If your the of the first then this film will be utterly wasted on you. But if you're lucky enough to be of the latter then go ahead and watch it. If you truly have a sense of humor and a cheesy one at that, then you absolutely love this film. Go ahead and watch it . You won't regret it.
