Description

Nestled in the mountains somewhere between North Africa and the Middle East, the women of one village are on strike. Fed up of trekking miles every single day to the nearest well, newly wed Leila leads a campaign to force the men to share the duty of bringing water to the village. Overcoming the wrath of the village elders and an unexpected visit from an old flame, Leila brings the colourful local traditions face-to-face with the modern world. Fun, lively and unforgettable, this is an entertaining journey through the African mountains to the heart of one vibrant community.

Simply put, this movie is magnificent - having said that, there is nothing simple about its plot and production. Captivating from start to finish, and not predictable at all - totally loved this movie and will be raving about it to all my friends. I rented it to start with - now I'll buy it. Great movie to add to my collection.

I recently watched this highly crafted movie before i watched i was thinking of something comedy movie or so but then i was wrong the story is great to follow and fun to watch especially if you are from morocco as this movie is generated and filmed in southern parts of morocco near the atlas mountains .so my enjoyment was apparently shown in my face throughout the film i liked very well done details kept to original standard at that time of history talking about 70 s and 80s a lots of things had changed since then I recomend this movie to certain catigory of movie fun who want to enjoy cinematique vue .enough said

I rate this film five stars because it is uplifting and endearing. The women characters are inspiring and the good humour of the group enable you to only wish you could experience their solidarity. Of course there are some in the community that can be identified with in a bad way, the mother-in-law perhaps. I enjoyed watching this very much, it's a rare thing to come across such an amazing story, a filmmaker so gifted in drawing you in so successfully. More please!

I particularly enjoyed THE SOURCE as a modern tale but rooted in traditionalism. (See trailer for old lady on camel on mobile phone trying to get a reception!). Charming, funny and a nice break from Hollywood fare.
