Description

TRON: LEGACY is an action-packed adventure set in a digital world unlike anything captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn (Oscar®- and Golden Globe®-winner Jeff Bridges), a man once known as the world's leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the abandoned Flynn's Arcade — that could have only come from his father — he finds himself pulled into a world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-or-death journey across a visually-stunning digital universe — created by Kevin himself — which has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons, and landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

Love this film (and soundtrack), but why is there no 4K version available? Great visuals as is but would be even better in 4K.

I thought this was a perfectly adequate sequel that was well written and very well cast. Sure, Martin Sheen is a bit silly but I think it was necessary to lighten up the heavy tone. The soundtrack is AMAZING and the cameo they made was cute. A must watch in Blu Ray.

I would probably give it 3.5 if I had the option, I did enjoy it, better than a lot of the poor films coming out now. I don't think they can make good SciFi films fast enough as to whether there is enough money from folk like me who only ever rent I can't say.

Watched this in 3D IMAX but wish it was 2D IMAX. The 3D had nothing to add to this all ready outstanding film. If you can get it in HD, go for it.

I bought this film and really wish I had not. Rarely in my life have I had to switch a film off. In this case it was a no-brainer. Absolutely terrible.

I love this film. One of my all-time favourites. However, why can't I play the iTunes Extras content on my Apple 24" LED Display? Because it's not HDCP-certified. So, I have a new Late-2013 Mac Pro, an Apple display, and I want to play something I bought from Apple's iTunes Store, and I can't. POOR SHOW, APPLE.
  • Another reboot?

Let me start by saying that I am, as my friends and partner frequently tell me, a harsh reviewer! It should be known that 3/5 is what I consider a 'good' score (4's and 5's are reserved for game changing films Good: Visual effects, Soundtrack (music and sfx), Small plot twist near end. Bad: Hammy acting due to young target audience. Its refreshing to see an old franchise being rebooted without it being a 're-imagining' or a 're-telling'. Tron Legacy is a sequel of the original film. This isn’t to say its not very similar in basic plot to the original, but a good job has been done to bend some new characters into a similar film Get this film in HD where possible as the visual effects are stunning. Nothing ground-breaking just a well rendered, stylised mixture of CGI and green-screen work. Acting/script is rubbish/hammy at times, but this is largely down to the target audience of the film rather than the actors themselves. Nice little plot revelation near the end during the final action sequences whether your expecting it or not. Soundtrack and sound design are also impressive and follow the theme/style of the film well. (Massive Daft Punk fan so I may have been swayed!) In conclusion Tron Legacy is a good film to watch if your a fan of the original, a younger viewer or an action fan. People looking for 'clever' films should divert their attention elsewhere. The amazing visuals might be a strong enough selling point alone, if that is something you enjoy in a film If you like this I can recommend: Tron (The original), Wreck-it Ralph, Cowboys and Aliens.
